In the introduction to the first workshop of the international partnership Educational theatre as the place for raising inclusion and employability of people with disability held a press conference was organized by a team of the Eureopan Theatre Night.

The conference was held on 11 November 2015 at 11 am in the Children’s Theatre Dubrava (Cerska 1, Zagreb), and was attended by numerous media – among others: HRT (Zagreb Panorama), HRT (Croatian Voice), Vecernji List, Croatian Radio, HINA , Croatian Catholic Radio, Radio Kaj, radio Antena ….

The seventh European Theatre Night is called Bit(ni)ili ne bit(ni) (which is a word game but it can be translated as “Important or unimportant?”) in an effort of raising public awareness of the difficult situation in which theatre workers and artists work and create.

On this occasion, the head of the Association for the Prevention of stigmatization and education through theatre, Ivan Hromatko, briefly presented the program of workshops and the public performance “Invisible Ability” to journalists and colleagues from the world of theatre – from Zagreb, but also from, for example, island of Šolta (which has its own amateur theatre) !

Important or not important in the seventh European Theatre Night!

In the seventh night of theatre involved 85 institutions in 78 locations in 42 places in Croatia. This year, the audience will be able to see 125 performances and take part in the 80 accompanying programs.

This year, only one island is participating – Šolta where they will play three performances.

Three premieres will be held in European Theatre Night – HNK Zagreb, HNK Varaždin and a premiere from RI-theatre from Rijeka.

City Theatre of Đurđevac hosts theatre from Slovenia and Đurđevac themselves are guests at the City Theatre Jastrebarsko where Theatre Fedora from Bugojno is also performing.

Virovitica Theatre will, beside performing in their own theatre, perform in City Theatre Požega.

In the village of Gata there will be four performances with an extensive accompanying program – concerts, tasting of food specialities, exhibition – and all of it for free.

Zagorje participates for the first time in the European Theatre Night. In the Festival Hall in Krapina there will be a matinee of the “Balls” performance.

HNK Ivana pl. Zajc in Rijeka also offers an extensive program – sightseeing program with a programme in all areas of the National Theatre.

Longest program this year has Scene Ribnjak in Zagreb. They will start first with a programme, in midnight and one minut, a and they will play six plays with great supporting program which will end after midnight November 22th 2015.

A rich program is expected accross the country. Among these, Sisak, Sinj, Retkovci, Osijek, Zadar …

The European Theatre Night takes place in seven countries – Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Serbia.
